For children, ensuring the normal operation of amusement facilities and their personal safety is the most fundamental. So the design and installation personnel of children’s amusement facilities should be aware of common dangerous situations and take targeted and effective measures to avoid them in advance.
(1) Sharp edges and corners
The wooden components should be smooth and free from cracks;
The edges and corners of metal and wood should be rounded;
All metal edges should be rounded or have circular protective covers.
(2) Protrusion
The maximum diameter of the top of the protrusion shall not exceed the diameter of the support.
(3) Pinch injury
To reduce the potential risk of being trapped, the inner diameter of all openings should be less than 222.5px (slightly greater than the maximum outer contour diameter of the palm of a 7-year-old child) or greater than 575px (slightly greater than the maximum length of the head of a 7-year-old child);
If it is a horizontal angle formed by two adjacent components, it should be greater than 55 °. For angles less than 55 °, an object should be embedded in the angle, and the size of the object should be sufficient to prevent the template with a diameter of 575px from simultaneously contacting the two components forming the angle.
(4) Fall
All fixed devices in sports equipment, such as concrete corners or horizontal brackets at the bottom of flexible climbing equipment, must be installed below the ground and protective surface material to prevent tripping users.
The retaining wall must be very eye-catching, and any changes in the plane must also be obvious.
(5) Crush injury
The warm space between facilities is large enough, and the minimum distance between game equipment is 3500 mm. The high platform and conversion platform of the facility should be made as spacious as possible, even forming an area so that children with limited physical strength can stop without interfering with the passage of other children, and avoid unnecessary injuries.
(6) Burn
The metal platform of the facility is located in the north or under the shelter of trees to prevent children from being burned by the direct heat of the sun.
